Initiation Building on Basics Program
July 24th to 28th, 2017

Emphasis on improving basic skills   Born 2010 – 2011
On-ice: 15 hours / Off-ice: 16 hours
The program is designed to improve overall skating speed by drills in the various elements of power skating.
Power Skating: Balance, agility, strides, starting and stopping, power turns and crossovers.
Puck Control: Stickhandling, passing, shooting, puck protection, deking & 1 on 1 play.

Defencemen’s Specialty Program
July 24th to 28th, 2017

Specialized training for defencemen   Ages 6 – 16
On-ice: 15 hours / Off-ice: 16 hours
Power skating: Backward thrusting, pivots, lateral movement, backward stops and starts and agility.
Puck control: Stickhandling, passing, shooting from the point, puck protection, deking, shot blocking and one-on-one play.
Positional play: Defensive coverage (rush and front of the net), breakouts, gap control, neutral zone play, offensive support , read and react, pressure and containment.

High Performance Elite Camp
July 31st to August 4th, 2017

Specialized training for the advanced player
On-ice: 15.5 hours / Off-ice: 18 hours

Atom / Peewee / Bantam Competitive Players
Maximum of 12 defencemen and 18 forwards per group
This Program is designed for players who have developed strong fundamental skills. This is a demanding camp consisting of intensive on ice and off-ice workouts. The objective of this camp is to push the student to the next level of play.
Emphasis will be placed on specialized training for forwards and defencemen

Body checking: Teaching of checking skills to Peewee-and-Bantam-aged players. Particular attention will be paid on how to handle one-on-one situations: a balanced position when giving or receiving a check; angling; delaying, containment and pinning.

StickHandling and Goal Scoring Camp 
August 14th to 18th, 2017

Specialized training for forwards   Ages 6 – 16
On-ice:  15 hours /  Off-ice:  16 hours
Emphasis on improved puck control and scoring ability
Stickhandling: Deking, one-on-one play, puck protection; puck control at high speed.
Shooting: Power, accuracy, shooting in stride, quick release, one-timers, wraparounds, deking, offensive positioning and shot selection.
Power skating: Power, speed, balance and agility for effective stickhandling and shooting.
Plus: Body checking (see Elite Camp)

Half Day Camp

Battle & Game Camp
August 21st to 25th, 2017

On-Ice: 12.5 hours – 1.5 hour battle drills & 1 hour game daily
Half Day Camp

Atom, Peewee & Bantam players

This camp will feature on-ice training only with 2.5 hours of training per day. The first 90 minutes will feature a unique curriculum that is based on a building block training method that is comprised of full ice circuit training and small area games sessions.  The Battle & Game Camp curriculum focuses on teaching, training and developing players to apply and adapt their core skills, such as, body contact, power skating, puck handling, puck protection, tactical corner skills, passing and shooting to each and every game situation.

Daily on-ice battle sessions will be geared to developing the confidence and the knowledge to use the body to gain a competitive edge.

Students will take part in a daily controlled 60 minute scrimmage, allowing our instructors to focus on the teaching of positional play as well as the different game situations including offensive play and defensive coverage.

Power Skating & Skills
Aug 28th to Sept 1st, 2017

On-ice: 12.5 hours – Half Day Camp

This new camp will combine two great programs – BAM and the Charlie Bourgeois Hockey School who brings over 50 years of combined experience.  Daily sessions will include 1.5 hours of fundamental hockey training as well as 1 hour of training in Balance, Agility and Mobility.  All skating sessions will be led by Lloyd Watling recognized as the top Power Skating Instructor in Atlantic Canada.

 3 vs 3 Hockey League

The 3 vs 3 program is designed to improve individual skills and to enhance the players decision making process. The games will be played on half ice surface with the new sport systems rink divider boards. The fast paced game on a smaller ice surface will help the player develop creative offensive play, better vision, quicker reaction time, read and react as well as one on one play. Teams will be made up of 9 players and 1 goaltender. Individual teams will be lead by a highly qualified coach.

Fall Skills Camp

The fall skills camp is designed to improve individual skills and to prepare the student for the upcoming hockey season.

Plus: Body checking (see Elite Camp).

Note: The Fall Skills camp features a ratio of 8 students to 1 instructor.
