The training camps will take place at the BMO Centre in Halifax for our NS Young Guns teams, Superior Propane Centre for our NB Young Guns Teams & at the APM our PEI Young Guns. Players will receive a total of 7.5 hours of on-ice training. The objective of the training camp will be to develop team systems as well as feature specialized training for forwards, defencemen and goaltenders (goalie instructor for all on-ice training sessions).

The 2017 Young Guns  teams will have as a first option of participating in the  Lobster Pot tournament in Portland, Maine which has become a premiere summer hockey event. Only tournament in the US that provides a five game guarantee.   Dates for the events will be  August  11 – 13 for tier 1 teams while our tier 2 teams will travel to Portland August 18 – 20.  However the Atlantic Hockey Group will be searching  for additional tournaments in the Boston, New Hampshire area as well as in Canada to provide our coaches and families with as many options as possible.  Final tournaments will be selected based on the criteria of being the appropriate competition level as well as the dates as the Atlantic Hockey Group encourages players to take some time off from hockey in the summer while using the mid-August to September time period to prepare for the upcoming hockey season. The tournaments will feature US and Canadian teams competing at the Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Midget levels. The appropriate level of competition will challenge our players as well as provide a recognizable standard, against which we can measure ourselves.
