Atlantic Hockey Group Appoints Kelsey Tessier as Director of Development, Enhancing High-Performance Hockey Programming

Moncton, New Brunswick – January 10th, 2024

The Atlantic Hockey Group proudly announces the strategic appointment of Kelsey Tessier to the role of Director of Development, marking an exciting chapter in the organization’s commitment to elevating hockey programming across Atlantic Canada.

With an illustrious professional career spanning 13 seasons, including a pivotal tenure with the Moncton Wildcats in 2010, Tessier brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Tessier’s journey in hockey has included a three-season stint in the AHL with the Connecticut Whale where he had 82 points across 221 games. His subsequent transition to European leagues saw him contributing his talents to various teams in Sweden, Germany, Finland, Austria, and France where he captured 3 Championships before culminating his professional career in 2023. Kelsey recently joined the Moncton Wildcats in the role of skills development coordinator.

Beyond his playing career, Tessier’s familial ties to the Atlantic Hockey Group run deep. His mother Louise, an integral figure, played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of the organization, contributing significantly to its growth and success over the years while his father Rick spent many years as a coach with the Atlantic Hockey Group. Kelsey himself played with the Atlantic Hockey Group for many years including in the spring with the Moncton Vipers, NB Stars, and Selects teams.

In his new capacity as Director of Development, Tessier will spearhead initiatives focused on advancing high-performance programming, including through programs such as CCM Academy and Charlie Bourgeois Hockey School. He will be pivotal in shaping and refining hockey programming, tasked with developing innovative strategies aimed at optimizing player development and program efficacy.
