Atlantic Hockey Group Appoints Morgan McNeill as Director of PEl Operations, Expanding Hockey Development Across Prince Edward Island

The Atlantic Hockey Group is proud to welcome Morgan McNeill as its Director of PEl Operations, marking a pivotal moment in the organization’s commitment to fostering hockey excellence throughout Prince Edward Island.

Morgan McNeill’s illustrious hockey career has traversed continents and leagues, embodying a deep-rooted passion for the sport. Hailing from Days Corner, McNeill’s journey as a defenseman has seen him don jerseys across junior A, university, senior, and professional levels, spanning the landscapes of both eastern and western Canada. His professional endeavors have taken him as far as Sweden and Australia, where he left an indelible mark on the international hockey stage.

A product of PEl’s vibrant hockey community, McNeill’s formative years were spent honing his skills within Evangeline and AAA programs in Western PEl. At 17, he embarked on a remarkable Junior A career, representing esteemed teams such as the Schreiber Diesels, Fort Frances Lakers, and the Smiths Falls Bears. His collegiate journey led him to don the colors of the Ryerson Rams in the OUA and the Briercrest Clippers in the ACAC, where he showcased his prowess on the ice.

In addition to his on-ice achievements, McNeill’s commitment to athletic development and mentorship shines through his endeavors off the ice. Graduating in 2018 from Holland College with a Diploma of Kinesiology in the Sport & Leisure Management Program, McNeill has dedicated his summers to training numerous young hockey aspirants, with many subsequently making their mark in prestigious leagues such as the QMJHL, MHL and AUS.

With his rich experiences and network, McNeill is poised to leverage his expertise to propel the Atlantic Hockey Group’s mission of grassroots hockey development to new heights. His appointment signifies a dedication to nurturing local talent and fostering a culture of excellence within the PEl hockey community.

“I am honored to return to my roots and contribute to the growth of hockey in Prince Edward Island with the Atlantic Hockey Group,” expressed McNeill. “I’m really excited to get started with minor hockey in Summerside, and surrounding areas, many of which I have strong connections from my past playing days. My journey in hockey has equipped me with invaluable lessons, and I am eager to pay it forward by empowering the next generation of athletes.”
