Atlantic Hockey Group Partners with Top Shelf Hockey

Nov 9th, 2023 – The Atlantic Hockey Group (AHG) is pleased to announce that it will be partnering up with Top Shelf Hockey (TSH). TSH female teams will have the opportunity to participate in high level events which will take place in NB, PEI & NS during the months of April and May.  Over 40 teams from across Atlantic Canada at the U9 to U18 levels are expected to compete in the 2024 program.

Founded in 1989, The AHG program has become one of the most successful in Canada. Through programs such as the Charlie Bourgeois Hockey School, the Atlantic Goaltending Academy and the spring Hockey Series the AHG works with over 10,000 players each year.

Director Charlie Bourgeois brings over 12 years of professional hockey experience to the Atlantic Hockey Group.  He began his pro-career with the Calgary Flames of the NHL.  In his seven-year NHL career, he also played for the St. Louis Blues and Hartford Whalers.  His coaching career began in Europe, followed by a two-year stint in the AHL with the Winnipeg Jets top farm team.  As a head coach Charlie guided the université de Moncton Aigles Bleus to the 2004-05 Atlantic University Championship.

Our group looks forward to continuing to grow its spring hockey program “Having an experienced hockey person like Keifer House involved in our programs will be a tremendous asset to our group. It is well known in the hockey community that Keifer brings a great deal of commitment and passion to the development of young male & female hockey players.” Currently the interim Head Coach for the Dalhousie Tigers women’s program coach House is entering his fourth season with the team.  Keifer also spent several seasons as an assistant coach with the Tigers men’s team.  A standout player for the Tigers in the 90’s, he’s currently fifth in all-time scoring at Dal. Before joining the Tigers, he played two seasons in the QMJHL. Keifer is the Director of Top Shelf Hockey which was established in 2010 and continues to provide high level hockey training programs for players of all ages and skill levels.

As for House “I am so excited about the future of our spring hockey program.  Together with the Atlantic Hockey Group, we will be in a position to offer our players and families the strongest Maritime Spring Series available. With the AHG network and resources, we will be able to offer even more opportunities for our players!” added Keifer.
